It is with much excitement the Waikerie Riverland Off Road Association (WRORA) would like to officially announce it will be running the Waikerie Riverland Enduro in 2021, after both Covid-19 and drought issues halted competition for the past two years. There is a major change however for this years race and that is it will now be run at an entirely new location.
The traditional track which ran through the properties of three local landholders has been retired after 40 years of service to the off road racing community and WRORA would like to recognise and thank the two Schultz families and the Aucote family for their support of the off road racing community with the generous use of their land over this time.
The new track which is located at New Well, is situated 29kms from the Waikerie CBD and is owned by local farming family, the Collins’s. The new track will initially have a race distance of approximately 30 kms, and includes a blend of both winding scrub and flowing sandy terrain.
WRORA members have commenced the removal of infrastructure from the existing track and is in the process of shifting this to the new location and setting up the new facility. The plan is to run a club level event (SAORRA Multi Club) for our inaugural Collin’s Property race as we work through the set up of our facilities at the new site. There will be camping available but facilities for this year will be a lot more basic as we will not have time to shift the permanent toilets and showers. There will be catering and spectator facilities at the new location.
This new track start up hails a new era for WRORA, one which the club is both excited for and appreciative. Stay tuned for further information on the forthcoming Waikerie Riverland Enduro, which will be released as soon as possible.
