The Australian Off Road Racing Association (AORRA) is proud to announce the successful applicants for Round 1 of the AORRA Club Support Grant Program! This initiative was designed to provide financial assistance to AORRA-affiliated clubs, supporting the development of off road racing facilities and events across Australia.
After careful consideration, four clubs have been awarded grants to enhance their racing infrastructure and improve the overall experience for competitors, volunteers, and spectators.
Waikerie Riverland Off Road Association – Toilet Water Supply Project
Location: Waikerie, South Australia
Grant Awarded: $5,000
The Waikerie Riverland Off Road Association are working tirelessly to re-establish their facilities after relocating a few years ago. In order to successfully host a round of the ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship in 2025, the club urgently needs working water supply at the event site.
The grant will contribute to the purchase of two water tanks, providing both potable and bore water, allowing for:
✔ Toilet flushing and shower facilities
✔ Dust suppression for improved track conditions
✔ Handwashing and tree watering to maintain the venue year-round
This project is a significant step towards ensuring the club can host large-scale events with adequate sanitation facilities for competitors and spectators.
Victorian Off Road Racing Association (VORRA) – Timing Trailer Project
Location: Rainbow Rises Motor Sports Complex, Victoria
Grant Awarded: $5,000
The Victorian Off Road Racing Association (VORRA) has been awarded funding to assist towards the purchase of a mobile timing trailer. This trailer will be used at VORRA’s events, namely Big Desert 480 and Rainbow Rises 240.
Currently, the timing teams at Rainbow lack proper facilities, often using borrowed or temporary structures that do not provide adequate shelter or security. The new mobile timing trailer will:
✔ Provide a dedicated and secure space for race timing teams
✔ Improve accuracy and efficiency in event timing
✔ Be transportable to various event locations to benefit the broader off road racing community
This investment will greatly enhance the professionalism and functionality of race timing operations in Victoria.
Limestone Coast Off Road Club – First Aid Equipment Project
Location: Burrungule, South Australia
Grant Awarded: $2,429.45
The Limestone Coast Off Road Club has been granted funding to purchase essential first aid equipment, ensuring a safer environment for club meetings, working bees, and events. The funding will be used to acquire:
✔ A comprehensive workplace first aid kit
✔ A snake bite kit
✔ A Defibrillator Bundle
With this equipment on hand, the club will be better prepared to handle medical emergencies and provide immediate assistance when necessary, particularly in situations where professional medics may not be present.
Gympie Auto Sports Club – Shower Block Project
Location: Kilkivan, Queensland
Grant Awarded: $5,000
The Gympie Auto Sports Club has been awarded funding to assist in the construction of a new skid based shower block for the new Kilkivan Race Track. With off-road racing events often spanning multiple days, providing modern and accessible shower facilities is crucial for participants, volunteers, and spectators.
The project includes:
✔ Three shower cubicles
✔ Gas-powered hot water systems
✔ A self-contained wastewater tank
✔ Water-saving systems for environmental sustainability
By enhancing the comfort and hygiene of attendees, this project will help attract more competitors and fans to Kilkivan’s off-road racing scene.
