North Queenslander Daniel Dunn #614 has launched his Inspec Industries 150 title defence in style, finishing the opening day at Moranbah with a 41 second advantage in dusty conditions.
Hosted by the Mackay Off Road Racing Inc, Dunn in his Class 6 Cam Am crossed impressively in front of local member Drew Callander #99 in his V8 powered Razorback, and last years runner up Tony Patterson #6175, who finished a further 1.09 minutes adrift in third.
Class 6 campaigner Darren Barker #611 is making the most of his Moranbah debut in fourth, finishing today’s seven laps 8 seconds ahead of Class 10 leader Stuart Chapman #1014 who rounded out Saturday’s Inspec Industries 150 top five.
Jack Henderson #807, Taylor Teichmann #236, Trent Callander #127, James Zlotkowski #1154, Ashlyn Dale #531, and Future Champion Mitchell Jones #6631 all lead their respective classes.
20 out of the 33 starters completed full distance on Saturday, with notables not to finish including 2022 champion Kye Camilleri #634, Trent Callander #127, last years podium sitter Luke Brandon #690s, Jason Lavis #1082, Katelyn Long #6626, Jason Sait #674, and young gun Dexter Warren #6645.
Action resumes this morning from 8am for the final six laps, where come early afternoon a new 2024 Inspec Industries 150 champion will be crowned.
