The opening section of the 2026 ARB Gundy 500 has been abandoned after an on-track incident brought proceedings to a halt at the 40-kilometre mark this afternoon.

With the majority of the field stopped on track behind the accident, only five cars were able to complete the opening lap after the incident occurred.

With insufficient time available to safely clear the incident, reassemble the field and complete another lap this afternoon, organisers confirmed there would be no further racing on Saturday.

Earlier in the day Clayton Chapman #15 and Beau Robinson #813 finished with identical times to share top honours in the prologue, with Griffith’s Jason Richards #91, Josh Howells #9 and Brett Comiskey #434 completing the top five.
