Knight Delivers Magic Gundy 250 Moment

Goondiwindi locals Jamie Knight and Patrick Buggie #439 recorded one of the more memorable outright victories in recent years at the weekend’s 2026 ARB Gundy 250.

Knight and Buggie took control of the race early in the team’s Class 4 Chev Silverado, extending their slender 13 second advantage from section one into a two-minute lead overnight.

Continuing his dream run on Sunday morning in rough and dusty conditions, Knight completed the events twelve laps 2.12 mins clear of his nearest rivals for an inspiring home soil victory.

Section 5 winners Zac Marsh and Richard Tassin #6140 threw down a stern challenge all weekend in their Class 6 Can Am Maverick R and were rewarded with a second outright, first in class result.

The 2023 Queensland AORRA Off-Road champions finished 3.09 mins ahead of Class 4 runners-up Brett Comiskey and Corey Cooper #434 who completed the podium in their V8 TSCO Trophy Truck.

Craig Krog and Dean Searle #23 impressed throughout, finishing just 12 seconds off the podium in fourth. The V8 Razorback competitors also claimed top honours in the Ultimate Class despite a flat tyre on Saturday afternoon costing the team approximately three minutes.

Krog was joined on the Ultimate podium by Kevy and Jackson Nott #78 who drove a very consistent race in second (7th outright), with Gundy debutants Kelvyn Kruger and Nic Moseley #44 (12th OR) crossing in third.

Conroy Devine and Robert Roles #606 collected second in Class 6 and fifth outright in their new Cam Am Maverick R, finishing 1.17 mins ahead of Justin Rider and Steven Teese #627 who rounded out the Class 6 podium in sixth outright.

Class 5 champions Michael Ranson and Blake Rogers #507 stormed home in ninth, completing full race distance 36 seconds behind Lochlan and Jordon Waters #699 in eighth, with Class 6 newcomers Nicholas Pye and Harry Pannam #629 rounding out the ARB Gundy 250 top ten.

Tony Fehlhaber and Dylan Goodsir #138 overcame an early incident on Sunday while running 3rd outright to take the Class 1 title, outlasting Razorback competitors Ian Baker and Cameron Carroll #146 in second, with David Loughnan and Darren Barker #104 third in their Honey Badger.

Jason Keane #1013 (11th OR) resumed where he finished off last year with a strong Class 10 triumph, the Jimco peddler crossed 1.04 mins ahead of the always reliable Michael Marson #1032 (13th OR), while David Mendham and Noah Spink #1070 rounded out the top three in a hotly contested class.

Darren Brandon and Rowan Clarke #689s took home top honours in Class 6s after the unfortunate early exit of Mitchell Huxstep and Larissa Chapman #618s, whilst Hank Parker and Mal McDonald #798, Paul and Debra Vann #287 all reigned in their respective classes.

Class 8 went the way of Tony Dalton and Joshua Pile #849 despite succumbing to the Gundy terrain in sight of the finish line, Tony Brose and Dion Owen #869 crossed in second, with Jayme Challacombe and Ross Challacombe #838 completing the podium.

In other ARB Gundy 250 results, North Queenslander’s Dave Muir and Ryan Olsen #433 closed out Class 4 in third, Tony Butler and Travis Luscombe #544 were awarded second in Class 5, while Megan Morgan #1094 was presented with First Lady home.

After watching several crews not finish on Saturday including Troy Duff #24, Symon Knight #475, Chris Colborne #169, James Zacka #604, Alex Mendham #170 and Darren Orr #1015, Sunday saw notables Seeton Battle #28, Aaron Nicoll #665, Tony Brose #869, Chris Land #80, and Jamie O’Toole #680, all bow out over the five laps.
