Congratulations to Robe local Todd Lehmann and navigator Ace Bermingham #85 for taking home the win at the 2024 Robe Earthmovers David Larter Memorial Day/Night Enduro. Lehmann led the field over both heats throughout the day and night section, finishing in an outright time of 2h8m12s, making it a second podium finish for the 2024 racing season. Rounding out the podium in second was Jakob Douglass and Jake England #1041 with a time of 2h17m, followed by Darren and Lewis Oliver #221 in third outright in 2h18m58s.
The event provided for a great day of tight racing between competitors with nine of the 17 entries completing the 11 laps over the two sections. Millicent Sand Buggy Club member Glenn Shipp #385 had a smooth run throughout the race, finishing first in class and 6th outright. Aiden Campagnolo #666 finished strong in 4th outright taking home the win for class 6.
Class 10 had a strong field of 4 competitors start heat 1, which provided for tight and exciting racing. Jakob Douglass #1041, Peter Tamblyn #1042 and Brodie Day #1011 completed the full race. Chevy Croker #1045 had a great start to heat 1, however, steering issues resulted in him withdrawing before the night section.
Class 2 also had a great entry of drivers with Darren Oliver #221 taking home the class win. Millicent Sand Buggy Club member Courtney Watson #285 finished another strong race for the season and member Billy Coombe #276, although having issues earlier in the day he finished both heats successfully.
Thank you to Millicent Sand Buggy Club and all the volunteers behind the scenes for organising another excellent event, we look forwards to seeing everyone back again in 2025. Thank you also to the event major sponsors Robe Earthmovers, Integrity New Homes Limestone Coast and Heenan Mechanical.
