Since 1973, the Sea Lake community has provided the setting to arguably Australia’s most iconic offroad event, the Mallee Rally; and this weekend the Sea Lake Off Road Club will once again play host, to the 2024 Camel’s Capers Haeusler’s Nandaly 300.
Spearheaded by 2023 champion Brett Plant #929 in his single seater Jimco, there will be plenty of challengers in the star studded 45+ field chasing Sea Lake supremacy this coming June long weekend.
One of Plant’s biggest threats will be his son Robert #128 campaigning the teams Class 1 Jimco, the 2021 Pooncarie Desert Dash winner will be looking to overturn a lean trot by adding a Nandaly title to his resume.
Others expected to be in contention include, 2024 Parilla Enduro and 2010 Mallee Rally champion Toby Reimann #80, recent Mumbannar 160 victor Glenn Pike #75 in his new Razorback, Griffith’s Jason Richards #119 making his first start of 2024, Class 4 stalwart Peter Sibson #412 who finished in 3rd last year, Mildura’s Evan Lampard #184, plus local charger Stuart Crowe #189 who is fresh off a triumph at Darren’s Day Out in April.
Brendan Payne #99, Jourdain Patterson #44, Stephen Burrows #181, Joe Marshall #134, Jake Stevenson #246, Craig Button #469, Mark Deacon #508, Aidan Campagnola #666, Darren Gill #760, Dean Meginley #1087, Dan Schiller #1028, Josh Gaskin #1075, and Darren Frankling #1110 are other notables primed for a Nandaly 300 assault.
The 2024 edition will see things kick off on Friday afternoon in Nandaly for the Show n Shine, before two 60kms laps from 1pm Saturday afternoon, with the final three laps scheduled to commence at 12.30 Sunday afternoon.
The Camel’s Capers Haeusler’s Nandaly 300 would not be possible without the support of major event sponsors Haeusler’s (naming rights), Nandaly Grain Co-Op, Crop Smart, North West Ag, and Swan Hill Offroad, along with all the other individuals who have assisted in so many ways.
The Camel’s Capers Haeusler’s Nandaly 300 takes place this weekend down the Pier Millan – Vallance Road, Pier Millan, Victoria.
